MODMEC / SIMULATOR

Privacy Notice

This notice explains how the public-beta Generation Profile Simulator handles scenario inputs and related technical data.

Effective July 27, 2026

1. Controller and contact

MODMEC Technologies, Inc., based in Phoenix, Arizona, controls personal information covered by this notice. Contact office@modmec.com for privacy requests.

2. Daily scenario inputs

Daily calculations ordinarily run in your browser. The simulator does not require an account and does not ask for a name or email. A shareable result encodes scenario inputs in the URL. Anyone with that link can view those inputs, so do not use confidential or restricted information.

3. Annual PVGIS analysis

When you run annual TMY analysis, the selected latitude and longitude are sent to MODMEC's server and then to the European Commission's PVGIS service to retrieve weather data. The request may generate normal service and security logs. Browser print functionality creates the PDF report on your device.

4. Technical data and purposes

Hosting and security providers may process IP address, browser, request time, error and security-event data. MODMEC uses this information to deliver and secure the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and comply with legal obligations. MODMEC does not sell personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

MODMEC does not use advertising trackers. Optional first-party analytics remain disabled unless you select “Allow analytics.” If allowed, a preference cookie remembers that choice for up to 180 days and a short-lived anonymous session cookie measures the funnel across modmec.com and simulator.modmec.com. Analytics events can include page paths, simulator runs, selected comparison markets, PDF actions and visits to modmec.com. MODMEC's event records do not store IP addresses, full referrer URLs or advertising identifiers. Selecting “Essential only” keeps analytics disabled. Hosting and security providers may use strictly necessary technologies.

6. Legal bases, sharing and transfers

Where applicable, processing is based on MODMEC's legitimate interests in providing and securing a business planning tool, steps you request by running the service and compliance with legal obligations. Data may be handled by hosting, security and infrastructure providers, professional advisers or authorities when required. Because MODMEC is a U.S. company, processing may occur in the United States or other countries; appropriate safeguards will be used where legally required.

7. Retention and rights

MODMEC does not maintain user accounts or a MODMEC database of daily scenario URLs. Consent-based analytics events are ordinarily retained for no longer than 12 months. Technical logs are retained according to operational, security and legal needs and provider schedules. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, withdraw consent where relevant, or complain to a data-protection authority.

8. Security, children and updates

Reasonable safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. The simulator is intended for business users and not for children under 18. The effective date above identifies the current version of this notice.

Keep confidential project names, load files and non-public site coordinates out of shareable URLs. Use a private, contract-backed workflow for sensitive project analysis.
